Umi Sports Games is the 9th episode of the 3rd season of Team Umizoomi, and the 48th episode overall.

Episode Description[]

Team Umizoomi is playing in the biggest sports event around - the Umi Games! But to win the Umi Games Trophy, Milli, Geo and Bot will have to defeat the Robot Athletes in each event. [1]

Summary[]

Team Umizoomi must beat all the Umi Games champions, the Sports Robots, in order to win the Umi-Games Trophy.

Synopsis[]

Intro: Favorite Sports[]

The episode begins with Team Umizoomi outdoors talking about sports. The team introduces the sports they liked. Bot was doing gymnastics, Milli was doing tennis, and Geo was playing baseball with Bot as the pitcher. Then, Milli asks Umi-Friend if they like to play sports. Assuming they said yes to that, Bot states that the viewer(s) are in luck, because today is the day of the biggest sports competition in Umi City - the Umi Games! Team Umizoomi was selected to play in the Umi Games as well, so they go inside a huge stadium where the event takes place.

The Opening of the Umi Games[]

The team are in a sports competition when they arrive at the stadium to play a quadrathlon which consisted of soccer, swimming, basketball, and biking. Later, their opponents: The Sports Robots enter to battle them and Bot introduces which robots are athletic at which sport. There's a soccer robot, a swimming robot, four (4) basketball robots, and five (5) biking robots. The team then finds out that to win the Umi Games trophy, they needed to be perfect and win all four (4) games. They then get ready for action, and then practice with various sporting equipment, like soccer balls, basketballs, kickballs, and even mini trampolines, all the while singing "We Are Team Umizoomi."

Soccer Skills[]

The first sport on the schedule listed on the scoreboard is soccer, so Team Umizoomi battles the Soccer Robot, who then sings about himself and what he does. To win the game, the team has do to score three (3) goals by kicking the three balls into the net, which the Soccer Robot tries to block (similar to a penalty-kick playoff in real soccer). Since there were three (3) rounds that had to be played, each member of Team Umizoomi took turns. Geo goes first, and kicks the ball to the bottom, which is not blocked. He scores the goal, and a soccer ball shows up on the scoreboard. Milli goes second, but Soccer Robot blocks a different part of the net. She aims for the left side, which is not blocked, and she scores! Bot goes third, and scores the goal by aiming for the top right. As a result, Team Umizoomi won the game by going 3-for-3! Their picture then shows on the scoreboard since they won! The team then does the UmiCheer, which essentially is yelling, "Umizoomi!" while jumping into the air and high-fiving each other. The Soccer Robot also congratulates the team for winning.

Bot's Hundred Meter Swim[]

The second part of the Umi Games is a swimming race, and the stadium transforms from a soccer field to a swimming pool! When the Swimming Robot sings about himself, Milli thinks Bot should race against him, but he doesn't feel ready, since his opponent has swimming gear, including goggles and flippers, whereas Bot doesn't. Geo uses his Super Shapes to build Bot some swimming gear so he can swim. For this race, the swimmers had to do freestyle swimming. When the race began, Bot realized that he has to swim a total of one hundred (100) meters and touch the wall on the other side of the pool to win. With a little help from Umi-Friend, Bot picks up his pace by counting to 100 by 10s. In the end, he won the swimming race, and the rest of the team praised him, and they all did the UmiCheer. The scoreboard then shows that Team Umizoomi won the swimming race as well!

Big vs Small Basketball Teams[]

Next on the schedule was a 4-on-4 basketball battle. Team Umizoomi battles a squad of four (4) purple Basketball Robot clones, who sing about themselves upon entrance. Team Umizoomi needed one (1) more player on their team to have the same number, so UmiCar, who is great at basketball, joins in and brings in the ball. To play the game, they had to play a lightning round of classic basketball. Each basket would be worth one (1) point for the team who scored it (regardless of the position it was thrown from). The cue to get the points is to make the ball into a hoop, and the first team to rack up ten (10) points wins the game. There was no time limit in effect for that game. Milli checked the scores three (3) times during the game, and they were ahead 3-2 the first time, but they were behind 5-6 the second time. However, the third time she checked, they were tied 9-9! That means that the next basket wins the game, and to score the last basket, Milli uses her Pattern Power to make a passing pattern as to how her team should pass the ball. The strategy was to pass the ball only in the sequence: Milli, Geo, Bot, UmiCar. That strategy turned out well, and UmiCar made a slam dunk, winning Team Umizoomi the game!

The Final Stretch - The Bike Race[]

Team Umizoomi sees that they are just one (1) game away from winning the trophy. The final sport of the Umi Games is a biking race, where Team Umizoomi has to race against five (5) Biking Robots of different colors all the way around the outer edges of the stadium. When the race is about to start, Team Umizoomi still doesn't have a racing bike. Therefore, Geo uses his Super Shapes again, this time to build a racing bike (to share), made with two (2) each of circles, rectangles, and triangles. Then, the team lines up at the starting line with the Biking Robots. When the race begins, Geo counts the five (5) robots ahead of the team, and Bot picks up the pace to pass all the robots. When Team Umizoomi makes it to second place, they see that they are close to the finish line, so they get a lot more UmiPower by saying "Umizoomi" several times. That plan works, and Team Umizoomi won the last game, and the Umi Games trophy!

Conclusion: The Closing Ceremony[]

The episode ends where all the sports robots: the Soccer, Swimming, and two Basketball Robots congratulate Team Umizoomi, give them a ride on their shoulders and say "You are the winner!" after they win the Umi Games trophy, which they deserved for perfection throughout the entire event. Then, the Sports Robots all join in on the Crazy Shake before the team signs off, ending the episode.
