Episode Description

Shooting Star is the tiniest horse at the ranch. More than anything he wants to be BIG like the other horses. Team Umizoomi takes Shooting Star on a mission to find four magical horseshoes that will make Shooting Star grow. [1]

Summary

When Shooting Star want to pull a wagon like the horses on a ranch, he tries but fails because he's too small. Shooting Star feels sad that he is the smallest. It is up to Team Umizoomi to help Shooting Star by collecting magical horseshoes and make Shooting Star grow so he can pull a wagon like the other horses.

Synopsis

Intro: Meet Shooting Star

The episode begins with Team Umizoomi as they hang out at the Umi City Ranch, where horses live. There, they meet a little colt with a star-shaped marking on his flank. His name is Shooting Star; he really wants to help the other horses with pulling the wagons just like Hercules, the biggest horse on the ranch. However, because of his small size, he doesn't even have enough strength and confidence to pull an empty wagon. Realizing he can't help, he sadly trots into the farm. Team Umizoomi follows him to comfort him. They really wish they could help him grow bigger, so he can be strong enough to help the older horses.

Geo's Discovery

Luckily and unexpectedly, Geo leans on a plank of wood and discovers a hole with an old script inside it. Bot looks at the script to see that it's a script that leads to the four (4) legendary Golden Horseshoes. The Golden Horseshoes can make a horse bigger if they are put on its feet. If all four (4) are collected, the horse can grow to be the biggest horse in all of Umi City. The team and Shooting Star then set off on a mission to find those horseshoes, which can be anywhere in Umi City. Without delay, Shooting Star runs out of the ranch while the team joins in on the ride and sings a country-style version of "We Are Team Umizoomi."

First Clue

To help the team find the Golden Horseshoes, the scroll has clues as to where each horseshoe is located underneath the horseshoe pictures. Bot takes a look under the first one, and the clue reads, "Horseshoe #1 is hidden in town. Check out the skyline and look for a crown." He then shows a picture of the crown to the viewer. Milli thinks that is a very fun clue, and looks around for a big crown, which she finds on top of a big statue. Then, they realize that it is the Statue of Geometry! That statue is green with a pyramid, cylinder, and a sphere next to a statue princess holding a dodecahedron and wearing a "dress" which had jewels of different shapes and colors on it. Bot sees the first Golden Horseshoe on the crown at the very top of the statue, and when the team makes it to the front of the statue, Milli wonders how to get all the way up there.

Scaling the Statue of Geometry

To get to the statue's crown and reach the Golden Horseshoe, Geo uses his Shape Magnet to scale right up there. This time, the lucky shape is an oval, meaning the Shape Magnet can stick to ovals on the statue. With a little help from Umi-Friend, Geo finds a yellow oval-shaped jewel, and pushes the button on his magnet to release the rope, and his oval sticks to the jewel! Now, he can climb up to it and get one step closer to reaching the horseshoe. Then, he finds a blue oval, a red oval, and a green oval. Soon, he sees the horseshoe on the top of the crown, and performs a cool stunt to get up there and grab it. Now, the first part of the team's journey is completed! Geo then sticks the Shape Magnet to the green oval, and uses the rope to glide down to the ground and send the horseshoe over to Shooting Star. When he gets down, Milli and Bot cheer for him and lift him in the air, and Shooting Star rubs his nose on Geo's forehead as a means of thanking him. Then, Geo puts the horseshoe on Shooting Star's hoof, and that makes him grow bigger.

Second Clue

After Team Umizoomi gets back on Shooting Star's saddle, Bot checks off the first clue on the scroll, but they still need to find three (3) more Golden Horseshoes to make Shooting Star the biggest horse in Umi City. So, he looks under the picture of the second horseshoe, and the clue reads, "To get the second horseshoe, here's something you should know; when you find a yellow triangle, the horseshoe's down below." The visuals are shown to the viewer, and the team looks for a yellow triangle. They find one on a triangle-shaped street sign on the sidewalk nearby (resembling a yield sign, but not exactly that). When Shooting Star and the team get there, Milli sees the yellow triangle, but does not see the Golden Horseshoe anywhere below it. It turns out she had not looked everywhere yet - Shooting Star discovered a manhole cover on the street, and when he pushed it out, he saw the horseshoe inside the hole.

Milli's Bungee Jump

Bot praises Shooting Star for finding the second horseshoe, but Geo wonders how to get to it, because it is inside the manhole, but not very far below the ground. Milli then sees four (4) bungee cords of different sizes and colors that the construction workers use when they go inside the manhole. She decides to borrow the blue bungee and use it to jump in there to reach the horseshoe. For her safety, she puts on her Super Harness, and attaches an end of the bungee cord onto it, and then hooks the other end onto a purple handle on the rim of the hole. Now that it's safe to jump into the hole, Milli dives in there and tries to reach it. Unfortunately, the blue bungee cord is way too short to reach the horseshoe, as she it still far above it when the bungee stretches out to the max. Milli then bounces right back up to the street and takes the bungee cord off. She tries again, and decides to use the red bungee cord, since it is the longest. This time, she went lower than the horseshoe, but missed it when she bounced back up. In that case, the red bungee cord was deemed too long. So, in order to get the horseshoe, the bungee needs to be longer than blue, and shorter than red. Milli then sees a green bungee cord whose length is right in between. Surprisingly, that was the perfect bungee cord length, as Milli finally grabbed the horseshoe when the bungee was stretched out to the max. The horseshoe is then taken out of the manhole, whose cover is closed by Bot. When Shooting Star puts it on, he grows even bigger!

Halfway Point and Beyond

So far, the team found two (2) out of four (4) Golden Horseshoes. To make Shooting Star the biggest horse in Umi City, he still needs the other (2) Golden Horseshoes. Bot checks the scroll to find out where the next horseshoe is located. Under the picture of the third horseshoe, the clue reads, "With vehicles stacked as high as can be, in the scrapyard you'll find horseshoe #3." A picture of the vehicle scrapyard is also seen on the scroll. Now that the team knows where to find it, they continue their horse ride on Shooting Star as they all head over to the scrapyard.

Process of Elimination

In the vehicle scrapyard, the team sees several piles of old vehicle scraps, as well as multiple stacks of old, worn-out rubber tires. But then, Bot's radar tells him that the Golden Horseshoe is hidden in a vehicle hanging up on a crane. The team sees seven (7) vehicles hanging, including a plane, a helicopter, a sailboat, a rocket, a car, a submarine, and a train. Bot then got a clue on his radar, telling him that the horseshoe is not in a flying vehicle, so he uses a controller to move the plane, helicopter, and rocket away. The next clue as to where the horseshoe can be found is that the vehicle in which it is hiding does not have wheels, either. So, Bot moves the car and train away as well. The last clue told him that the horseshoe is not in the vehicle that goes underwater, which is the submarine. Therefore, the horseshoe had to be in the sailboat. Bot moves the old sailboat down to the ground, and searches inside it to find the Golden Horseshoe. Eventually, he finds it on the wooden steering wheel, so he gets it with his extend-o legs, and puts it on Shooting Star, making him grow even bigger!

One More Clue!

Now, Team Umizoomi found three (3) Golden Horseshoes, but to make Shooting Star the biggest horse, they still need one (1) more. The clue to find the last Golden Horseshoe reads, "To get the final horseshoe, there's one more thing to do - find someone with an orange hat, who's wearing red boots, too." Geo looks all around the park to find the person who has that exact outfit on. He eventually finds a cowboy next to a tree wearing an orange hat and red boots. When Shooting Star gets to him, Milli tries to get the cowboy's attention, but surprisingly, the cowboy is... DoorMouse! In addition, the last Golden Horseshoe is seen on his hat. This means they found the right person, but getting the horseshoe on Shooting Star is not going to be easy...

Hercules vs. Shooting Star

When Milli tells DoorMouse that the team needs the horseshoe for Shooting Star, he unfortunately declines to give it to them. However, he does give them the opportunity to get it by completing a prerequisite - making Shooting Star win a race against Hercules the Horse back to the ranch. Team Umizoomi wants to take the challenge, as the winning horse the race will be getting the horseshoe, but Shooting Star is too nervous and cowardly to race, so the team tries to cheer him up by telling him to believe in himself, in a song called, "You're A Shooting Star." After which, Shooting Star feels confident and ready to race, so he meets DoorMouse and Hercules at the starting line, and the race begins on DoorMouse's cue. The two (2) horses run as fast as they can down the path, with their owners on their saddles. Shooting Star is doing great so far, as he is right behind Hercules. However, Hercules starts accelerating, as there is a little fence in the way that has to be jumped over. Hercules jumped over it, but Shooting Star is too nervous to make the jump. Milli finds out that the fence is three (3) units high, so Shooting Star has to jump four (4) units high to get over it. She then cheers him on as he tries to jump, and they successfully make it over, and can continue the race! Now, Shooting Star is catching up to Hercules, who jumps over an even higher fence. Shooting Star gets nervous again, but the team will continue to help! Milli saw that the fence was five (5) units high, so she cheered for Shooting Star to get him to jump six (6) units high. He makes it over the jump again, and is getting even closer to Hercules. The horses just have to jump over one (1) more fence, which is nine (9) units high, to get to the ranch. Apparently, the last fence was so high, not even Hercules could jump high enough (in this case, ten (10) units!), but with encouragement from Milli and Umi-Friend, Shooting Star could jump it, and soon, he successfully makes it into the ranch before DoorMouse and Hercules, completing the race! Some people are also seen cheering at the ranch.

Conclusion: Magical Moment

As the race ends and the sun goes down, Team Umizoomi is so proud that Shooting Star won the race and the final Golden Horseshoe, that they praise him for all his hard work and staying motivated to reach a new milestone. Then, DoorMouse and Hercules meet the team and congratulate them for their big win. For completing DoorMouse's challenge, the last horseshoe is proudly given to Milli by DoorMouse, and then she puts it on Shooting Star. Now that Shooting Star has all four (4) horseshoes, he grows to be the biggest horse in Umi City. He becomes friends with the other horses, and is able to pull a wagon just like them. Shooting Star is really glad to now be the biggest horse, because that also made him the most famous! As a result, the team celebrates with the Crazy Shake! The horses, DoorMouse, and even the Statue of Geometry join in on the celebration before the team signs off, ending the episode.
